Conversations is a series of talks and panel discussion on topics regarding the social enterprise sector, social impact, and doing good in Singapore. We hope to spread awareness about social enterprises and social issues in Singapore, as well as engage members of the public in meaningful discussions about how we can make Singapore a better place for all.

The consumer in each of us today is pervasive yet inconspicuous. As citizens in an interconnected global economy, we can no longer ignore the impact of our consumerism. How can I align today’s consumerism with the idea of sustainability? Why should I care and how do I start?
Who Will Be Speaking?
Rebecca Paranjothy – Co-founder, Freedom Cups
Freedom Cups gets reusable menstrual products to women through a buy-1, give-1 model to underprivileged communities. Rebecca and her co-founders have been published in Harper's Bazaar's list of 30 women changing the world, Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list in 2017 and 50 national newspapers for Impact Journalism Day. They have had the pleasure to meet Mdm Halimah Yaacob, PM Lee Hsien Loong, Prince Charles, PM Theresa May, Prince Harry, and President Barack Obama.
Darren Ho – Head of Citizen Farm, Edible Garden City
Citizen Farm is Singapore’s first and only closed-loop urban farm. Darren completed his studies in Natural Resource Management and Economics (BSc) at the University of Western Australia with an Agri-track focus. He thereafter gained much industry exposure working in various farms around the world.
Ciara Yeo - Co-founder, The Mindful Company
The Mindful Company is a Singapore-based social enterprise creating meaningful modern jewellery. Ciara started The Mindful Company with the vision of creating products that are rich in meaning, quality and story; products inspired by the lives of real, purposeful women and men. She previously worked in corporate law and investment banking.
Rita Zahara – Co-founder & CEO, AMGD Global
AMGD Global is a food-tech company that runs healthy bento subscriptions. With a penchant for digital transformation, Rita co-founded AMGD Global. She also wears many hats - a former Channel NewsAsia Journalist and newscaster at ESPN Star Sports, an entrepreneur and two-time cookbook author. She was recently honoured at the Women Entrepreneur Awards 2017 and is currently furthering her interest at the Ali Baba Business School.
